Comments: Grain futures remained on the defensive last week, with corn prices coming under further pressure from near ideal growing weather and wheat futures continuing to be pressured by the U.S. winter wheat harvest. Soybean futures had a mixed week with the old-crop futures finding renewed support from tight supplies, while new-crop months slipped further under pressure from large acreage expectations and favorable weather. Futures volume slowed last week as traders took to the sidelines ahead of the June 30 Crop Acreage and Quarterly Grain stocks reports. Livestock markets were mixed with live cattle futures rebounding on technical buying and expectations for tightening cattle supplies, while lean hog futures remained under pressure from weak pork prices.
