Comments: Grain and soybean futures had another choppy week, but corn futures were able to rally as spot supplies tightened and crop quality concerns increased on slow crop maturation and harvest-delaying rains across the Midwest and the Delta. Soybean futures also found support from tight supplies and harvest delays, but still slipped a bit as the upper Midwest continued to avoid a season-ending frost and outside markets flashed deflationary signals. Wheat futures tried to break out to the upside, but were stymied again by pressure from large supplies and slow export demand. Livestock futures chopped sideway with live cattle posting small gains on speculative short covering, while lean hog futures were pressured by renewed weakness in cash hog and wholesale pork prices amid ample hog supplies. Cotton futures fell back from chart resistance under pressure from a stronger dollar and crude oil weakness. Click on the Brock logo or call 1-800-558-3431 for more info on our services. |
