Comments: Grain and soybean futures had another strong week on continued support from record slow corn/soybean harvest progress and commodity fund buying spurred by technical strength as well as the continued weakness of the U.S. dollar. Wheat futures led the way higher on active fund liquidation of a large short position in CBOT futures amid concerns that SRW wheat acreage will be down sharply. Gains were capped by speculative profit taking on indications of overbought market conditions and concerns higher prices were slowing demand. Livestock futures had a mixed week as live cattle futures posted strong gains on support from rising cash markets and technically-driven short covering, while lean hog futures came under moderate pressure from their premium to cash hog markets and weaker wholesale pork prices.
