Comments: Last week was a choppy one for most agricultural commodity markets with trading volume slowing around the Thanksgiving holiday. Corn and soybean futures edged higher with soybean prices continuing to find fundamental support from strong Chinese demand and corn prices boosted by expectations for more index fund money to enter the long side of the market in December. Wheat futures set back on speculative profit taking amid a continued lack of supportive fundamental news. Lean hog futures posted strong gains as cash hog and wholesale pork prices surged amid talk of strong export demand for U.S. pork. Live cattle futures slipped despite stronger Plains cash trade as concerns about weak beef demand remained high. Cotton futures edged lower as speculators took profits in the wake of the previous week's strong gains. Click on the Brock logo or call 1-800-558-3431 for more info on our services. |
