Comments: Grain and soybean futures came under renewed pressure from bearish fundamentals and technical selling last week amid mixed outside influences. Soybean futures felt increased pressure from a record South American crop as the start of Argentina's harvest neared, while wheat futures prices buckled under the weight of burdensome U.S. stocks after a poor weekly export sales total. Corn futures followed the soybean and wheat markets lower despite ideas USDA might cut old-crop production this week and worries about possible spring planting delays. Livestock futures held firm on good support strong cash markets. Favorable economic data spurred hopes for better meat demand, while lighter-than-expected hog supplies remained supportive for prices along with low cattle weights. Cotton futures held firm as strong export demand provided support against speculative profit taking. Click on the Brock logo or call 1-800-558-3431 for more info on our services. |
