![]() Dec. 7, 2015 Source: RFD-TV news release As part of its commitment to provide the most up-to-date, accurate information to rural Americans and agribusiness professionals, RFD-TV has added to its weather team meteorologist Christina Loren. She begins broadcasting Nov. 11 from RFD-TV's studios in Nashville. Loren's reporting will also be featured via Rural Radio on Sirius XM Channel 147. Loren comes to RFD-TV most recently from NBC in San Francisco. Prior to her five years in the Bay Area, she provided weather coverage in Bakersfield and Chico, Calif. Loren earned her Meteorological Certification from Mississippi State University and holds a B.A. in Economics from CSU Chico. She recently earned a Master's degree in Christian Studies from Grand Canyon University. "It's an absolute privilege to join the experts at RFD-TV and serve the hard-working Americans who feed and fuel the world," Loren said. "The families and communities of rural America rely on RFD-TV for accurate weather forecasts. I promise to look out for the valuable interests of farmers and ranchers and prepare them for the myriad of weather elements that impact this nation each day." She joins RFD-TV meteorologist Joe King, formerly of WNRQ in Nashville. Their forecasts occur on air every 10 and 40 minutes after the hour during Market Day Report from 9 a.m. to noon (ET) Monday through Friday, and during Rural Evening News at 7:30 (ET) each weeknight. Viewers who email photos of their rural lifestyle to newsdesk@rfdtv.com could be featured during the forecasts. "Christina Loren is a breath of fresh air," said Gary Kanofsky, RFD-TV Chief Content Officer and Executive VP of News. "Our audience is certain to enjoy her energy and the way she cleverly intertwines her love of the science of weather with her analysis and forecasting. She's a stellar communicator, and we're simply thrilled she chose to make Nashville her new home." The expansion is part of RFD-TV's effort to bring more targeted weather information - including precipitation and temperature trends - to rural Americans and all those tending crops and livestock. Market Day Report, airing every weekday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (ET), is the network's most-watched show by farmers and ranchers, delivering live continuous coverage of the latest news, trade analysis, national weather, and in-depth commodity market updates. Last month, it won the 2015 CableFax Award for "Best News Show" on cable. And Rural Evening News, airing each weeknight at 7:30 p.m. (ET), highlights daily events in rural America. With rural news, market recaps, national weather, and Western sports highlights, Rural Evening News has enjoyed a substantial ratings increase since RFD-TV moved to its new studios on Nashville's historic Music Row.
