TOTAL U.S. TRACTOR SALES DOWN IN JANUARY, COMBINE SALES UP 21%

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturer's monthly "Flash Report," tractor sales in the U.S. through January 2016, were down 6% compared to last year.

In January, a total of 11,067 tractors were sold which compares to 11,762 sold in January 2015.

For the month, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were up 13% over last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were down 6%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP were down 39%, while 4-wheel drive tractors were down 9%.

Combine sales were up 21% for the month. Sales of combines for the first month totaled 419.
