YIELDMETRIX 9/6/2016 Aug. 29, 2016
YieldMetrix map patterns confirm USDA's corn and soybean forecasts for higher than normal, and in some cases record breaking yields in the corn belt of the U.S. As of last week, Central and much of the Northern Great Plains show better than normal growth. Potential record breaking growth patterns can be seen in major corn production areas. This suggests the crops in these regions are finishing under good finishing conditions.
Drier conditions have prevailed in the western abutting corners of South and North Dakota, and the eastern Midwest. The south central and eastern states have been impacted by drier conditions, but review at a more detailed map levels reveals mixed patterns of above and below normal plant growth.
YieldMetrix will be monitoring on a weekly basis how the crops finish as they move towards maturity.
