KANSAS CITY PARKS TEAMS UP WITH SAGE COMMUNICATIONS FOR PR, MARKETING AND BRANDING
Source: Sage news release

The Kansas City, Missouri Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners has selected Sage, A Creative Marketing Agency, as its agency of record for public relations, marketing and branding. The board approved the selection at its August 23 meeting.

"Sage brings the creativity and energy we were seeking to help us share the exciting things that are happening with KC Parks," said Heidi Downer, manager of marketing and events for Kansas City Parks and Recreation. "We especially like their commitment as an organization to work hard and play hard. That is the attitude we want the community to embrace, and we look forward to teaming up with Sage to make that happen."

After more than a decade of working with local, regional and national clients, founding partners Leigh Ann Cleaver and Kelly Schwalbe renamed the company last December to reflect its emerging strategic direction and personality.

"We have always been proud to be a Kansas City company and promote the community, both on and off the job," Cleaver said. "That's why we are so excited to encourage both residents and visitors to discover the treasures of our local parks and museums, along with the programs and events offered in Kansas City. Our Sage team members are active KC Parks and Recreation enthusiasts and we are eager to share that passion."

Kansas City Parks and Recreation maintains 220 parks; 12,242 acres of parkland; 134 miles of trails and bikeways; 29 lakes; hundreds of athletic fields and tennis courts; 103 playgrounds; and five public golf courses. Ten community centers and seven museums are available for community programming.

"There is no better time than fall to get outside and experience all that Kansas City Parks and Recreation have to offer," Downer said. "Working with our new partner Sage, we expect to finish the year strong and hit the ground running in 2017 and beyond."
