DTN, a leading information services company, announced today that it has hired Kip Pendleton to lead its Agriculture business. As senior vice president of Agriculture, Pendleton is responsible for the largest business unit within DTN, and will lead strategy, the development of new products and services, and oversee mergers and acquisitions. In addition to providing insights to support growers, ag retailers, market collection points and food and ag manufacturers, Pendleton will also oversee the industry-leading The Progressive Farmer publication.

Pendleton is a high-performance business leader and brings extensive experience in the seed and biotech industry. He has a deep understanding of the Ecosystems, Team of Teams and System of System relationships in global agriculture and food. In addition, he has addressed more than 70 groups on strategic effectiveness and change, and has been involved in leading and executing a number of successful mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to joining DTN, Pendleton was president of The Pendleton Group, a successful strategic consulting firm serving technology and agriculture companies. In addition, he was senior vice president and general manager of Ag at Hemisphere GPS; founder, CEO and chairman of DirectAg the first e-commerce company in agriculture; and then president and co-CEO of Agristar, the company that acquired DirectAg. He has worked with leading public companies including DuPont Pioneer, Syngenta Northrup King and Dow AgroScience Mycogen Seeds.

"We are proud to have Kip join the DTN team, said Ron Sznaider, president of DTN. "As we enter a new era of the company, in a changing marketplace, Kip has significant experience to help lead the DTN Agriculture business, develop its path for future growth, and transform it to become a world leader. Kip has the unique ability to help us leverage our skills across the four divisions of DTN under our DTNOne vision."

"I consider DTN the original digital company in agriculture; and The Progressive Farmer, the initial Intelligence tool for growers, said Kip Pendleton. "DTN has products that can benefit everyone involved in production agriculture and 'The Neutral Trusted Platform to be the Insight Leader for Agriculture and Food Globally'. With the industry's largest network of over 5,500 field-based weather stations, DTN continues as the weather leader in agriculture, being independently ranked most accurate for 10 consecutive years. We look forward to making growers and all that serve them more effective and successful."

Pendleton earned his Bachelor of Science in Agronomy and Ag Economics from University of Wisconsin-Madison, Master Studies in Plant Physiology from the University of Illinois, and holds an MBA in Finance from the University of St. Thomas. He has also participated in the Harvard Agribusiness Program and the Center for Creative Leadership Executive Curriculum.

DTN is the global leading digital provider of information services, supply chain connectivity solutions and decision-support tools to more than 80,000 subscribers in agriculture, oil and gas, trading and weather-sensitive industries worldwide and a circulation of over 500,000 with the DTN/The Progressive Farmer magazine. DTN, based in Omaha, Nebraska and Minneapolis is owned by TBG, a private century-old investment holding company headquartered in Zurich.
