CANADIAN TRACTOR SALES UP 17% FOR THE YEAR, COMBINE SALES UP 30% IN JULY

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers' monthly "Flash Report," the sales of all tractors in Canada for July 2017 were down .9% compared to the same month last year.

For the year, a total of 13,862 tractors were sold, which compares to 11,880 sold through July 2016, a 17% increase.

For the month, two-wheel-drive smaller tractor (under 40 HP) were up 15% from last year, and 40 & under 100 HP were down 20%. Sales of two-wheel-drive 100+ HP were down 15% from last year, and four-wheel-drive tractors were down 50% for the month.

For the year, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were up 26% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were up 10%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP are down 4%, while 4-wheel drive tractors are up 17% for the year.

Combine sales were up 30% for the month. Sales of combines for the year totaled 1,048, an increase of 28% over the same period in 2016.
