Oct. 10, 2017 Source: National Association of Farm Broadcasters (NAFB) Foundation The National Association of Farm Broadcasters Foundation has a new fundraiser, offering raffle tickets for the opportunity to win three different prizes valued at over $1,000. NAFB Foundation President Greg Akagi says "This is a benefit for everyone that buys a raffle ticket. You get a chance to win something you can use every day or it could be an early Christmas gift for someone. More importantly, this is a great way to help benefit the NAFB Foundation and strengthen our future in farm broadcasting." Prizes include a $500 Amazon gift card, a harman/karden Onyx Studio 3 Wireless Speaker System with rechargeable battery, and the newest generation Amazon Echo. The drawing will be held following the NAFB Convention and prizes will be shipped to the winners of the drawing. NAFB Foundation Board member Ken McCauley, a farmer and past president of the National Corn Growers Association, proposed the idea for the raffle ticket fundraiser. "I've seen this done successfully with groups in my community and across the state," McCauley says. "The NAFB Foundation does a tremendous amount of good for the agricultural industry, and for students studying agricultural communications, this raffle gives us an opportunity to introduce the NAFB Foundation to a larger audience. The best way to ensure the future of farm broadcasting and farm programming on radio and online is for you to support the NAFB Foundation." Tickets are currently available for $10 each from NAFB Foundation board members or through the NAFB office and will also be sold by NAFB Foundation board members and students at the 74th NAFB Convention November 8-10 at the Westin Crown Center in Kansas City. About the NAFB Foundation The National Association of Farm Broadcasters Foundation is a 501(c)(3) educational foundation. It is focused on enhancing the value of agriculture, food production and rural lifestyle through the various forms of broadcasting while assisting and benefiting industry partners, students, future broadcasters and the general broadcast audience.
