CANADIAN SEPTEMBER TRACTOR SALES UP 16% FOR THE YEAR, COMBINES UP 30%

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers' monthly "Flash Report," the sales of all tractors in Canada for September 2017 were up 4% compared to the same month last year.

For the year, a total of 17,391 tractors were sold, which compares to 14,958 sold through September 2016, a 16% increase.

For the month, two-wheel-drive smaller tractor (under 40 HP) were up 2% from last year, and 40 & under 100 HP were up 3%. Sales of two-wheel-drive 100+ HP were up 3% from last year, and four-wheel-drive tractors were up 79% for the month.

For the year, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were up 23% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were up 11%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP were even, while 4-wheel drive tractors are up 22% for the year.

Combine sales were down 2% for the month. Sales of combines for the year totaled 1,512, an increase of 30% over the same period in 2016.
