Oct. 30, 2017 BrownfieldAgNews reports: The National FFA Advisor says the FFA Organization needs to change dramatically in the next 10 years to reflect today's agriculture. Steve Brown says the organization needs modernized career development events, proficiency awards, leadership development programs, award programs, and degree requirements. He says FFA is no longer known as cows, plows and sows. "FFA must become drones, clones and technology," he says. "We must change to reflect modern day, twenty-first century sustainable agriculture." Brown says updated programs will help meet the need of ag industry. "In FFA we must eradicate mediocrity, we must initiate thoughtful, sustaining change to meet the employment needs," he says. He says for those who might hesitate to see things change, it is the people who make the organization, not the events and programs. Tweet |
