Jan. 11, 2018 Source: Agri Marketing magazine According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturer's monthly "Flash Report," the sale of all tractors in the U.S. in December 2017, were up 18% compared to the same month last year. For the twelve months in 2017, a total of 220,546 tractors were sold which compares to 211,133 sold thru December 2016 representing a 5% increase for the year. For the month, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were up 5% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were down 2%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP were down 7%, while 4-wheel drive tractors were up 18%. For the year, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) are up 8% over last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were even. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP are down 8%, while 4-wheel drive tractors are up 5%. Combine sales are down 3% for the month. Sales of combines for the year total 4,112 an increase of 4% from 2016.
