FULL YEAR: TRACTOR SALES IN CANADA UP 15%, COMBINES UP 24%

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers' monthly "Flash Report," the sales of all tractors in Canada for December 2017 were up 16% compared to the same month last year.

For the year, a total of 25,601 tractors were sold, which compares to 22,177 sold through December 2016, a 15% increase.

For the month, two-wheel-drive smaller tractor (under 40 HP) were up 14% from last year, and 40 & under 100 HP were up 16%. Sales of two-wheel-drive 100+ HP were up 13% from last year, and four-wheel-drive tractors were up 51% for the month.

For the year, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were up 20% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were up 12%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP were up 5%, while 4-wheel drive tractors are up 25% for the year.

Combine sales were up 13% for the month. Sales of combines for the year totaled 2,212, an increase of 24% over the same period in 2016.
