U.S. FEBRUARY TRACTOR SALES DOWN 10%, COMBINE SALES UP 34%

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturer's monthly "Flash Report," the sale of all tractors in the U.S. in February 2018, were down 10% compared to the same month last year.

For the two months in 2018, a total of 10,486 tractors were sold which compares to 11,630 sold thru February 2017 representing a 10% decrease for the year.

For the month, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were down 12% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were down 2%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP were down 20%, while 4-wheel drive tractors were up 9%.

For the year, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) are down 4% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP are even. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP are down 11%, while 4-wheel drive tractors are up 15%.

Combine sales were up 34% for the month. Sales of combines for the year total 481 compared to 393 in 2017, a 22% increase.
