U.S. TRACTOR SALES EVEN WITH LAST YEAR, COMBINE SALES UP 21%

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturer's monthly "Flash Report," the sale of all tractors in the U.S. in April 2018, were even compared to the same month last year.

For the four months in 2018, a total of 68,057 tractors were sold which compares to 67,730 sold thru April 2017 representing a .5% increase for the year.

For the month, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were down -0.4% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were up 8%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP were down 7%, while 4-wheel drive tractors were up 2%.

For the year, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) are even with last year, while 40 & under 100 HP are up 2%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP are down 6%, while 4-wheel drive tractors are up 4%.

Combine sales were down 59% for the month. Sales of combines for the year total 1,227 compared to 1,012 in 2017, a 21% increase.
