SENATE AG COMMITTEE TO VOTE ON ITS FARM BILL TODAY
Agri-Pulse reports:

The Senate Agriculture Committee takes up its 1,006-page farm bill this morning, and Chairman Pat Roberts and ranking Democrat Debbie Stabenow hope to send the legislation to the Senate floor with a strong bipartisan vote.

There will first be a debate over several amendments, including Sen. Chuck Grassley's proposal to tighten commodity program payment limits and eligibility rules.
Grassley suggested yesterday to reporters that the outcome will depend on how hard Roberts has tried to keep the provisions out of the bill. "Roberts has a lot to do with the success of my amendment," Grassley said.
