NAT'L ASSN OF FARM BROADCASTING'S MEMBERSHIP REACHES 34-YEAR HIGH
National Association of Farm Broadcasting (NAFB) reports:

The National Association of Farm Broadcasting (NAFB) recently announced it has reached an all-time high of 851 members, surpassing its high-water membership mark of 790 reached in 1984.

Founded in 1944, NAFB is dedicated to serving the interest of the United States' agricultural community while creating value for its broadcast member stations and networks. The Association serves as a liaison between its members and the agri-marketing community of companies and agencies.

NAFB membership spreads across four main sectors: Broadcast Council, Management & Sales Council, Allied Industry Council, and Students. Additionally, the Association recognizes Emeritus and Honorary members, which help comprise the overall membership number.

"All NAFB members should take pride in being a part of reaching this historic membership milestone," said Tom Cassidy, 2018 NAFB President, Ag Radio Network, Barneveld, New York. "Through ongoing promotion of farm radio's relevance and importance in today's agricultural climate, our members realize the role we, as farm communicators, play in the ever-changing ag landscape. Our members are trusted resources for market reports, weather, technology and product information, and so much for their listeners."

NAFB members also participate in various Association events throughout the calendar year that give them first-hand access to newsmakers in agriculture.

"Our Washington Watch event each spring, and - of course - Trade Talk every November during our Convention are two must-attends for our members," added Rita Frazer, 2018 NAFB Vice President & Membership Chair, RFD Radio Network, Bloomington, Illinois. "Be it sitting down for a meeting with the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture in our nation's capital or going booth to booth during a busy day at Trade Talk, NAFB members know the value of face-to-face conversation with the key policy makers and corporate players in the field of ag. NAFB affords its members many opportunities for important interviews each year."

Looking ahead, NAFB will recognize this membership milestone at its 75th Anniversary Convention, slated for November 7-9, 2018, at the Westin Crown Center, Kansas City, Missouri.
