FULL YEAR: CANADIAN TRACTOR SALES UP 2%, COMBINES DOWN 4%

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers' monthly "Flash Report," the sales of all tractors in Canada in 2018 were up 2% over last year.

For the year, a total of 26,047 tractors were sold, which compares to 25,603 sold through December 2017.

For the month of December, two-wheel-drive smaller tractor (under 40 HP) were down 3% from last year, and 40 & under 100 HP were up 3%. Sales of two-wheel-drive 100+ HP were up 9% from last year, and four-wheel-drive tractors were down 41% for the month.

For the year, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were up 5% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were down 3%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP are up 3%, while 4-wheel drive tractors are down 13% for the year.

Combine sales were down 1% for the month. Sales of combines for the year totaled 2,114, a decrease of 4% over the same period in 2017.
