CANADIAN TRACTOR SALES EVEN IN MARCH, COMBINE SALES DOWN 5%

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers' monthly "Flash Report," the sales of all tractors in Canada in 2019 were even with March sales last year.

For the year, a total of 4,223 tractors were sold, which compares to 4,585 sold through March 2018, a decrease of 8%.

For the month of March, two-wheel-drive smaller tractor (under 40 HP) were up 13% from last year, and 40 & under 100 HP were up 4%. Sales of two-wheel-drive 100+ HP were down 31% from last year, and four-wheel-drive tractors were down 25% for the month.

For the year, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were up 6% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were down 13%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP are down 31%, while 4-wheel drive tractors are down 35% for the year.

Combine sales were down 5% for the month. Sales of combines for the year totaled 286, an increase of 8% over the same period in 2018.
