![]() Jun. 24, 2019 Source: SCD Group Inc. news release The board of the Livestock Publications Council (LPC) has approved a contract with Lindsay Graber Runft to serve as its new Executive Director. She begins July 15, 2019. Runft replaces Diane Johnson who retires August 15. "The LPC Board is very excited to have someone with the experience and passion for our industry to continue moving the organization forward," said Carey Brown, LPC President and Publication Coordinator of the Kentucky Cattlemen's Association. "Lindsay will be a great asset to the group and we look forward to building our organization with her leadership." Twelve (12) persons applied to be considered for the Executive Director contract. Runft served as director of marketing and communications of the Livestock Marketing Association (LMA) from 2013 to 2018. She has been principal of Prairie Public Relations since 2018. "I am incredibly excited, and honored, to accept the role of Executive Director for Livestock Publications Council," Runft said. "It will be a privilege to further LPC's purpose of serving the livestock communications industry through collaborative work with Board leadership and membership service." Runft graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture (dual majors in agricultural communications and journalism and animal sciences and industry) and then from Texas Tech University with a Master of Science degree in agricultural communications. As part of her graduate program, she completed media market and risk/crisis communications research. She grew up on a small family farm in south-central Kansas. Currently, Runft and her husband, Cody, reside in north-central Kansas on their seedstock Charolais ranch, Cody Cattle Company. The LPC office will relocate from Fort Worth, Texas, to Courtland, Kansas, effective August 15, 2019.
