Allflex Livestock Intelligence, the global leader in animal identification, traceability and monitoring systems, today announced the hiring of Heather Birdsall as beef monitoring specialist. In the newly created role, Birdsall will be based in Central Kansas and will oversee beef monitoring development in the Central U.S.

"We are excited to have Heather join our team," says Paul Koffman, Allflex vice president of North American Livestock Monitoring. "She brings experience in the beef sector, as well as a background in beef education and outreach. Her understanding of our beef customers and the industry as a whole, makes her a strong addition to our team."

A native of Alabama, Birdsall earned a bachelor's degree from Auburn University in agriscience technology education and a master's degree in agriculture education from Alabama A&M University. For the past 15 years she's been involved in beef education for Cornell University, where she was a liaison for ag community groups and programs. Additionally, Birdsall managed a direct-to-consumer beef business, creating awareness, marketing and selling local beef product in the Northeast.

"I'm thrilled to have an opportunity to utilize my beef industry knowledge and skills in the new and growing sector of electronic beef cattle monitoring," Birdsall says. "Joining the Allflex Livestock Intelligence team is a tremendous opportunity and I look forward to being part of the most innovative livestock identification team in the world."
