U OF KENTUCKY'S DR. CARL A. BRADLEY RECEIVES MID AMERICA CROPLIFE ASSN'S EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD

The Mid America CropLife Association (MACA) honored an academic leader at its recent annual meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The MACA Educator of the Year Award was presented to Dr. Carl A. Bradley, University of Kentucky. The award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated significant contributions to American agriculture, especially in the MACA region. Also, the person has demonstrated evidence of consistency in educating the public on the value of production agriculture.

Dr. Carl Bradley received his Doctor of Philosophy in Crop Sciences, Plant Pathology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2001. Carl has worked as a Post-Doc at the University of Idaho; as an Assistant Professor / Extension Plant Pathologist at North Dakota State; Assistant Professor of Plant Pathology / Extension Specialist at the University of Illinois, Department of Crop Sciences; and is a Professor / Extension Specialist at the University of Kentucky, Department of Plant Pathology.

Also, Dr. Bradley is a guest lecturer for several courses at the University of Kentucky. He speaks at numerous venues throughout the year, including pest forums, university field days at various Midwestern universities and extension outreach throughout Kentucky. He's been the major adviser for 9 graduate students and 5 Ph.D. students at North Dakota State University, University of Illinois, and University of Kentucky as well as serving on advisory committees of over 30 graduate students.

Carl has always worked well with industry leaders as a collaborative partner in product use and development and is considered a leader among row crop plant pathologists.

In summary, Carl has given more than 400 presentations as a faculty member at the University of Kentucky, the University of Illinois, and North Dakota State University.  His presentations have reached thousands of people by using on-line meeting platforms in addition to "in-person" presentations in 14 states plus Australia, Canada, China and South Africa.
