USDA HOLDS CAREER FAIR FOR AGENCIES MOVED TO KANSAS CITY, 300 APPLY FOR 24 JOBS
Agri-Pulse reports:

Over 300 people showed up for a career fair at Kansas State's Olathe campus last week, hosted by USDA's Economic Research Service and the National Institute for Food and Agriculture. Both agencies are in the process of moving to Kansas City and had posted 24 open positions for this job fair, ranging in pay from $51,000 to over $124,000.

One observer noted that the number of prospects and the level of enthusiasm for these new jobs far exceeded expectations. Still, many positions remain vacant: Over 90 ERS jobs are posted here.

The agencies recently announced that both agencies will be moving to 805 Pennsylvania Ave. in downtown Kansas City. U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue will be at that location this Friday to celebrate the signing of the office lease.
