Madison, NJ - Merck Animal Health, a division of Merck & Co., Inc., Kenilworth, N.J., USA, today announced Brian Beckley has been appointed President of Biomark. Most recently, Beckley was Chief Operations Officer of Biomark, responsible for commercial activities in support of the aquaculture and wildlife and conservation businesses, including the recent acquisition of Vaki, a leader in fish farming and wild fish conservation monitoring equipment and real-time video monitoring technology to advance fish health and welfare.

His extensive industry experience, knowledge of the aquaculture community and proven track record will be a tremendous asset in accelerating the growth and establishing a leadership position in the fast-growing aquaculture market.

He joined Biomark in 2001 and served in finance and sales positions. He will continue to be based in Boise, Idaho.

"I am delighted and honored to announce this appointment as we begin an exciting new stage of our business journey, which will extend the range of market-leading technology and services for our customers," said Rick DeLuca, President, Merck Animal Health. "Through our commitment to The Science of Healthier Animals, we are dedicated to advancing the health and well-being of animals and the people who take care of them."

Dean Park, former President of Biomark, will assume the role of Special Projects Advisor to the President of Biomark, after an impressive 30-year career in developing and leading Biomark. Park began his career as a fisheries technician at Biomark in 2001 and has worked in finance and sales roles during his tenure with the company. His father, Donn Park was a career research biologist, and with his wife, Retta Park, saw a need to do more within the fisheries and wildlife research area and, subsequently, founded Biomark in 1990. "I am pleased that Dean will continue to work at Biomark in a new capacity to help share learnings and advance the future direction of the company," said DeLuca.

Biomark specializes in electronic identification technology used in fisheries, wildlife and aquaculture research, including product sales, custom manufacturing, installation and extensive data management and analysis.
