NORTH AMERICAN AGRICULTURAL JOURNALISTS NAMES ITS 2020 WRITING CONTEST WINNERS

The North American Agricultural Journalists (NAAJ) virtually held its annual meeting in late April and announced the winners of its annual writing contest.

Bart Pfankuch with South Dakota News Watch garnered NAAJ's Glenn Cunningham Agricultural Journalist of the Year Award, awarded to NAAJ's best overall writer of the year. Pfankuch won with a series of stories revolving around the impact of Confined Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs) in South Dakota. Each year, the overall winner is selected from first-place winners in News, Spot News, Feature, Series, Column, Editorial, Technical, Profile and Blog NAAJ contest categories.

Category winners for 2020 are highlighted below.
