NEBRASKA CO-OPS FARMERS UNION, FRONTIER TO MERGE, NEW NAME IS FRONTIER COOPERATIVE

Two eastern Nebraska cooperatives have completed member voting and have receive approval for unification. Effective September 1, Farmers Union Coop Association and Frontier Cooperative will be unified under the name of Frontier Cooperative to total 55 grain, agronomy, energy and feed locations. The footprint of the new Frontier Cooperative will be across 14 counties.

The voting period lasted three weeks and results in 77% voting yes for the unification.

"We are excited about the possibilities this unification brings to us to grow our business in the future," Randy Carlholm, General Manager, Farmers Union Coop Association said in a news release. "We believe it will bring positive benefits to the cooperative, its members and its employees."

"The Boards of Directors and leadership teams spent time analyzing this opportunity before presenting it for a vote," said Frontier Cooperative CEO, Jeremy Wilhelm. "The outcome of the vote shows the commitment to helping both cooperatives be a better organization, and now we will focus on continuing to provide excellent services, technology and products to our members."
