NUTRIEN PARTNERS WITH U.S. FARMERS & RANCHERS IN ACTION FOR SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE
Source: Nutrien news release

Loveland, CO - Nutrien announced today that it has joined U.S. Farmers and Ranchers in Action (USFRA), marking an important step forward in its role as a global leader in sustainable agriculture.

The past few months of dealing with COVID-19 impacts have made it abundantly clear that sustainable practices in agriculture will be essential to ensuring long-term food security. USFRA's commitment to supporting the unique role that farmers and ranchers play in enabling sustainable food systems in the future is aligned with Nutrien's goals to nourish our communities, natural resources and planet.

Nutrien joins USFRA as a strategic partner at the organization's highest level and Mike Frank, President & CEO, Nutrien Ag Solutions will serve on the USFRA board.

"We believe collaboration across the food production value chain is critical, and that USFRA's role in connecting farmers and ranchers to food and agriculture stakeholders is key to the global effort to create sustainable food systems," said Mr. Frank. "Sustainable agriculture is an important priority for Nutrien, and we work every day to serve U.S. farmers, helping them achieve sustainable outcomes in their fields. Our work supporting the mission of USFRA fits well with our purpose."

The agriculture and food sector has an important role to play in mitigating climate change, strengthening rural communities and securing a bio-based economy for our world. As an organization committed to convening the full food and agriculture value chain, USFRA will continue to gather and engage agriculture and food leaders to collaborate with farmers and ranchers, to work toward meaningful change and positive outcomes for the industry and the world.

"Collaboration and working together is the only way forward," says Erin Fitzgerald, USFRA CEO. "That's true when it comes to protecting our health, the climate, our food system and this Earth we all share. Having a leader like Nutrien at the table brings new perspectives and input as we strive toward a common vision for the entire sector."

In his new board role and as a representative for Nutrien, Mr. Frank will participate in USFRA's 2nd Annual Honor the Harvest Forum. Starting on September 9, the two-week event of online sessions will connect farmers and ranchers with leaders among the agricultural value chain to build a movement to deliver lasting environmental, social and economic sustainability. The forum will be the launch of a journey over the next decade to implement economically viable climate-smart agricultural solutions to meet the world's growing demands for food, fiber and energy.
