NAT'L CORN GROWERS ASSN CEO OPTIMISTIC BIDEN'S EPA WILL BE MORE FRIENDLY TO BIOFUELS
BrownfieldAgNews reports:

The CEO of the National Corn Growers Association is optimistic about how the Biden administration will handle small refinery exemption requests.

Jon Doggett was on a biofuels policy panel during the Iowa Renewable Fuels Virtual Summit Tuesday.

"I'm very hopeful that we're not going to see these huge SRE's popping up again and again and again. I do think there will be more transparency, but with all decisions made by the EPA, that decision on the transparency will be litigated before it gets decided."

He suggests Michael Regan, Biden's nominee for EPA administrator, will be more friendly towards biofuels than his predecessors under President Trump.

"I don't think we're going to see the huge SRE's, I really don't. Just given who will be in charge at EPA, I kind of doubt it."

Doggett and fellow panelist Chris Bliley with Growth Energy also pointed to Biden's criticism of SRE's during the campaign as a reason to believe there will be fewer waivers during his term.
