![]() May 24, 2021 Source: Agribusiness Council of Kansas City news release Livestock producers have long marked their animals to prove ownership. More high-tech versions of identification are available today. These systems can go much further than simply identifying ownership - they can enhance the ability to address animal disease concerns, support more robust management systems, as well as bring value-added marketing opportunities for those positioned to exploit traits and qualities. It is the wave of the future, but it is not always easy. The Council's panel discussion on June 10 will bring various perspectives into focus - producers, auction markets, and packers. A successful system will need to be embraced by all elements of the supply chain and offer the prospect of bringing economic value for it to gain broad acceptance. Matt Teagarden, CEO, Kansas Livestock Association will moderate the panel, which will include: • Callahan Grund, Executive Director, U.S. CattleTrace • Chelsea Good, Vice President of Government & Industry Affairs and Legal, Livestock Marketing Association • Dr. Glen Dolezal, Vice President Protein, Cargill To Register, click here.
