FARM BUREAU URGES SWIFT PASSAGE OF OCEAN SHIPPING REFORM ACT
American Farm Bureau Federation reports:

Washington - American Farm Bureau Federation President Zippy Duvall commented today on the Ocean Shipping Reform Act advancement out of the Senate Commerce Committee.

"AFBF is pleased the Senate Commerce Committee worked together to advance the Ocean Shipping Reform Act to the full Senate. Ongoing supply chain issues and record-high shipping costs threaten to limit exports at a time when our trading partners are increasingly relying on America's farmers and ranchers.

"Limiting trade also negatively affects farmers' ability to get much-needed supplies like fertilizer, which ultimately drives up the cost of growing food for America's families. We urge the Senate to follow the House and the Commerce Committee's lead and pass the Ocean Shipping Reform Act to ensure America's farmers and ranchers can continue to meet the needs of families at home and abroad."
