Grand Forks, ND - An internal shift of roles has allowed Black Gold Farms the opportunity to add a Chief Operating Officer to the executive team. This role will implement the company's Farm Better Strategy by carrying out operational plans that meet the strategic needs of the business and exceed customer's expectations. This position emphasizes leadership and as a member of the executive team requires strong leadership values.

Mark Knight joins the Black Gold Farms team bringing a varied history within the agriculture industry. Knight was raised on a potato farm in Washington's Columbia Basin and has devoted his entire career to farming. He comes to Black Gold after spending nearly 23 years at AgReserves, where he held divisional leadership responsibilities as HR Director, V/P International Operations, and General Manager of AgriNorthwest. His experience of farming in the United States, England, Argentina, Mexico, and Brazil, along with his background in finance and human resources has aided him in developing a well-rounded skill set.

Since Knight's onboarding in February, the Black Gold Farms team has been inspired by his leadership and cultural impact on the company. "We are very excited to welcome Knight to our executive team. He brings a rich history of farm success and will be a great role model for our employees and vendors who encounter him," said Eric Halverson, CEO of Black Gold Farms.

"I am thrilled to be part of the Black Gold Farms team. My entire career - and life - has been spent in the agriculture industry, and I look forward to continuing that tradition by growing along with the Black Gold Farms mission to Farm Better," said Knight.
