Nov. 23, 2022 Source: Farm Journal Foundation Tuesday, Nov. 29, 10-11am EST This event will mark the launch of Dr. Thom Jayne's new policy paper commissioned by Farm Journal Foundation titled, "Farmers on the Front Lines: How U.S. Investments in Climate Adaptation for Smallholders Can Support Global Food Security." During the event, Dr. Jayne will present the key findings from his paper, highlighting the role of public investment in agricultural science, research, and innovation, as well as policy, as key to building climate-smart food systems in support of smallholder agriculture in developing countries. Dr. Jayne will also introduce the six areas identified in the paper where U.S. investment and coordination would be especially impactful. His presentation will be followed by a panel discussion focused on the important role the U.S. government and other partners are playing in developing more sustainable, resilient, and equitable global food systems, including through new and existing initiatives highlighted at COP27.
