CORTEVA LAUNCHES SEED TREATMENT OFFERING FOR WHEAT AND PULSE GROWERS
Source: Corteva Agriscience news release

INDIANAPOLIS (PRWEB)Corteva Agriscience announced today that U.S. wheat, barley, lentil, and pulse crop farmers have a powerful insecticide seed treatment available to help control yield-robbing pests for the 2023 spring growing season, pending individual state registrations.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) granted a label expansion for Lumivia CPL seed applied insecticide, a new seed treatment product from Corteva Agriscience, to offer pulse crop, lentil, barley and cereal farmers utilization of this robust insecticide seed treatment. With this label expansion, farmers now have on-farm treating capabilities to give them more options and added protection where it counts.

"This expanded label will help farmers protect even more crops with Lumivia CPL. The broad-spectrum protection against early-season insect pests allows farmers to maximize their yield potential," said David Borgmeier, Seed Applied Technologies Lead, Corteva Agriscience.

With this fast-acting level of seed to seedling protection in place, pulse and cereal farmers can win with uniform and healthy plant stand establishment, improved early-season pest protection, and be rewarded with greater yield potential.

Lumivia CPL insecticide seed treatment provides farmers the following benefits:

The only pulse and cereal seed treatment that controls cutworm
Lumivia CPL provides outstanding early-season insect protection for cereals, peas and lentils to help maximize stand count and yield potential and manage pest populations. The seed treatment also demonstrates proven activity against other key early-season insect pests, including pea leaf weevil, armyworm, wireworm, grasshopper and seedcorn maggot.

Provides up to 40 days of seedling protection
Lumivia CPL contains a Group 28 anthranilic diamide insecticide that remains concentrated in key areas of the plant after planting and protects through germination and after emergence. Its highly systemic movement above and below ground provides seedling protection up to 40 days after seeding.

Key pest management tool
Lumivia CPL features a unique mode of action and a strong active ingredient to add to any resistance management plan. This insecticide seed treatment is efficacious at low-use rates and compatible with other commercial seed treatment technologies.

Farmers can purchase Lumivia CPL insecticide seed treatment from their local ag retailer. To learn more about Lumivia CPL, visit Corteva.com, or contact your local Corteva Agriscience representative.
