CURIOUS PLOT SELECTS AMERICAN FARMLAND TRUST AS ITS 2023 "SEED TO SUCCEED" RECIPIENT

For more than 40 years, American Farmland Trust (AFT) has been helping preserve millions of farmland acres in the United States. Through its innovative initiatives and partnerships, AFT has advocated for farmers, regenerative agricultural practices and policies, and fostered resilient agricultural communities. Curious Plot announced that it has selected AFT as its 2023 Seed to Succeed recipient and will provide up to $75,000 of pro bono strategic marketing communication support to AFT to help advance its goal and mission.
AFT works in service to our nation's farmers and ranchers, often partnering with other farm groups, conservation groups or academic institutions. Since 1980, AFT has been a driver of the agricultural conservation movement. Its mission to save the land that sustains us by protecting farmland, promoting sound farming practices and keeping farmers on the land has never been more relevant or important than it is today. AFT has helped to permanently protect over 6.8 million acres of agricultural lands plus advanced environmentally sound farming practices on millions of acres.
"Our Seed to Succeed program continues a long tradition of providing a philanthropic boost to emerging and essential nonprofits within the industries we represent, and we're excited to support the mission of AFT," said Laurie Fleck, CEO of Curious Plot. "With consumers' and producers' continued focus on regenerative agriculture and sustainability practices, the work AFT is doing is vital to the future generations of farmers."
AFT's priorities are focused on protecting farmland, advancing soil health through regenerative practices and supporting farmers so they can succeed and be stewards of the land for generations to come. AFT's national programs target critical lever points where they are poised to make a real impact. The organization's state and regional programming keeps the team grounded in agriculture's realities while testing new concepts and replicable models.
"American Farmland Trust is overjoyed to be working with Curious Plot to further our grantmaking efforts," said Nathan L'Etoile, AFT's national farm viability managing director. "With the help of Curious Plot, we can continue investing in the viability of our farmers and ranchers and the land they steward."
Since 2009, the Seed to Succeed pro bono grant program has provided marketing support to nonprofits within the food, agriculture and companion animal care sectors that work for positive change on limited budgets. Past recipients include Rural Minds, Produce for Better Health Foundation, Grow North MN, Project Evergreen, Farm Journal Foundation, Southern Peanut Growers and Partnership for Food Safety Education.
