AMERICAN FEED INDUSTRY ASSN'S IFEEDER BOARD DISCUSSES STRATEGIC PLAN, UPCOMING PROJECTS

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Institute for Feed Education and Research (IFEEDER) held its Board of Trustees meeting Tuesday, May 14, to discuss its current projects and install new Board leadership and trustees.

"IFEEDER has made great strides in advancing our strategic plan, becoming a trusted resource for the animal food industry and our allied stakeholders, advancing sustainability research, and broadening IFEEDER's pool of resources," said Lara Moody, IFEEDER executive director. "These collaborations strengthen the industry's collective efforts toward sustainability and innovation in the feed and pet food sectors."

In the next year, IFEEDER plans to work on several projects in accordance with its strategic plan, including: adding new resources to the Animal Food Industry Sustainability Toolkit, supporting other research and pursuing education and sustainability projects on the animal food industry's behalf. IFEEDER will also update its datasets on U.S. feed and pet food ingredient consumption.

As part of its business meeting, the IFEEDER Board of Trustees recognized Mike Gauss, president of Kent Nutrition Group, Inc., for his leadership as Board chair for the 2023-24 IFEEDER fiscal year, which ended April 30, and installed Carlos Gonzalez, Ph.D., vice president of global regulatory affairs at Hill's Pet Nutrition, Inc., as the new chair for the 2024-25 fiscal year, which began May 1. Stever Lerner, Ph.D., senior scientific and business advisor of Novonesis Animal and Plant Biosolutions, will serve as vice chair for the 2024-25 fiscal year.

With the installation of three new trustees (noted with asterisks*), the IFEEDER Board of Trustees includes: John Akridge of MFA Incorporated; Susanna Elliot* of Alltech, Inc.; Gonzalez; Courtney Hall of CHS, Inc.; Jamee Krug Blahauvietz of Elanco Animal Health; Lerner; Scott Lovin of AgState; Paul Phillips of DuraPlas Inc./Maxi-Lift Inc.; Dan Rice* of Western Milling; Chad Risley*, Ph.D., of Berg+Schmidt America, LLC; and Juan Tricarico, Ph.D., of Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy.

IFEEDER would like to thank the outgoing trustees for their service: Leah Dorman, D.V.M., Phibro Animal Health Corporation; Gauss; and Chris Hostetler, Ph.D., National Pork Board.
