INDIANAN CROP IMPROVEMENT ASSOCIATION NEW GENETIC TESTING ASSAY FOR CORN HYBRIDS
Source: Indiana Crop Improvement Association new release

Lafayette, Indiana -- Indiana Crop Improvement Association Inc. (ICIA) is pleased to announce the development and release of a new genetic testing assay, genetic purity analysis for corn seed, using DNA markers.

ICIA has identified a diverse and informative set of single nucleotide polymorphic (SNP) markers that will provide detailed analysis of a seed lot's genetic quality. The SNP markers will allow ICIA scientists and technologists to detect the presence of unwanted plant types (selfs and offtypes) within hybrid and inbred corn seed lots. Results can be delivered to seed producers within a short period of time, allowing them to make effective decisions regarding their genetic seed quality, ensuring that the highest quality standards are achieved.

"This new genetic testing capability will drive ICIA's diverse offering of services forward as we continue in our commitment to provide quality testing and exceptional service for ICIA member customers," said Craig Nelson, Chief Executive Officer. As a trusted laboratory, providing reliable and accurate assays to the seed and grain industries, ICIA is committed to providing innovative solutions to seed producers incorporating the latest in agricultural research and test development.

Contact ICIA today to learn more about available testing and how their innovative solutions can propel your success!
