APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN FOR THE AMERICAN SOYBEAN ASSN/BASF SOY SCHOLARSHIP
Source: American Soybean Association news release

St. Louis, Mo. -- Strong agriculture leaders are critical to the future of the soybean industry, and the American Soybean Association wants to provide a student interested in agriculture with a college scholarship as they start their education.

The Soy Scholarship is a $7,000, one-time award presented to a high school senior who plans to pursue agriculture as an area of study at any accredited college or university in the 2025-26 academic year. The scholarship is managed by ASA and made possible through a grant by BASF Corporation.

"Today's students are tomorrow's agriculture teachers, researchers, farmers and policymakers. We are thrilled to support future ag leaders and provide them with one more tool to help them achieve their goals," said ASA President Josh Gackle (ND). "ASA is appreciative that BASF is funding this initiative and looks forward to announcing our next Soy Scholarship recipient."

ASA and BASF have recognized and rewarded students for their hard work and interest in agriculture through the Soy Scholarship since 2008.

"BASF believes in investing in the future of agriculture by supporting young leaders who are not only shaping tomorrow but are actively involved in the industry today," said Scott Kay, vice president, BASF Agricultural Solutions U.S. "We take great pride in our ongoing support for the American Soybean Association's Soy Scholarship. This program provides support to students who have a genuine passion for agriculture and farming, which we believe is the 'Biggest Job on Earth.'"

The scholarship is awarded in $3,500 increments (one per semester) for the 2025-26 school year. The student must be a child or grandchild of a current state soybean association/ASA member, maintain successful academic progress, and remain in good standing with the college or university to receive the full amount of the scholarship. High school seniors may apply online Oct. 24-Dec. 31, 2024.

A committee of soybean grower leaders will select the ASA BASF Scholarship recipient. The award winner will be announced this winter.
