STINE SEED COMPANY: ADVANCING INNOVATION WITH ENLIST E3 SOYBEANS
Source: Stine Seed Company news release

ADEL, Iowa -- Stine Seed Company is known for being a trailblazer in the soybean industry. In fact, Stine was the first company in the U.S. to commercially offer Enlist E3 soybeans when the trait launched in 2019. Today, Stine is the second-largest Enlist E3 brand, and Enlist E3 soybeans represent more than half of the soybean acres planted in the U.S.

"Our early investment in developing Stine Enlist E3 soybeans has allowed us to breed more new generations of seed than many of our competitors," said Tyler DuBay, soybean technical agronomist for Stine. "This approach gives us the advantage of offering more unique Enlist E3 lines in a wider array of maturities to the market."

Elite Research Fuels Stine's Enlist E3 Success

For more than 60 years, Stine's soybean breeding and research program has focused on developing high-yielding soybean genetics. The company's accelerated breeding process includes year-round production, leveraging off-season nurseries in South America to turn up to four generations annually.

"In 2024, we conducted 20,000 soybean crosses, with half focused on Enlist E3," said DuBay. "We've been conducting Enlist E3 crosses for 12 years, starting seven years before anyone else."

Through rigorous testing in its Elite Yield Trials program, Stine evaluates products extensively -- testing each one up to 300 times before they reach the market. Only a small fraction of varieties advance. In 2024, just 0.88% of all soybean lines tested were selected for commercialization.

"We want to ensure that every product we bring to market delivers the highest value to growers," DuBay added. "This commitment to excellence has helped us refine and expand our Enlist E3 lineup faster than others in the industry."

The Stine Advantage: Performance and Efficiency

Stine Enlist E3 soybeans provide more than just yield advantages. The trait's tolerance to 2,4-D choline, glyphosate and glufosinate allows growers to use Enlist Duo or Enlist One herbicides for effective weed control with minimized drift and volatility.

"Our Enlist E3 soybeans also embody the Stine mentality," DuBay said. "They are shorter, more upright, and feature increased branching and nodes, which allow for planting at higher populations in narrower rows. This design equates to more plants per acre and, ultimately, higher yields."

Experience the Stine Enlist E3 Difference

For the 2025 season, Stine is offering more than 100 Enlist E3 lines ranging in maturity from 008 through 77, including 45 new Enlist E3 soybean brands, reinforcing its position as an industry leader. Growers can explore the full lineup and learn more about Stine Enlist E3 soybeans by contacting their local Stine sales representative or viewing the 2025 Stine Seed Catalog online.

"At Stine, we're excited for growers to experience the powerful performance of our Enlist E3 offerings," DuBay said. "The STINE HAS YIELD advantage is undeniable."
