KRISTI SPENCE JOINS THINK SHIFT AS ITS VP OF STRATEGY
Source: Think Shift news release

Kristi Spence
WINNIPEG, Manitoba -- Agri-marketing agency Think Shift announced today its hire of agriculture expert Kristi Spence as VP of Strategy, a new role for the agency. Spence will serve as a subject matter expert for existing clients, while leading on new partnership strategies and client transitions with the business development team. She will also work directly with the agency's leaders to align Think Shift's brand and internal culture.

Having worked in the dairy industry for the past 13 years -- even spending time as a Think Shift client -- Spence brings a unique perspective to the agency's leadership team. At Dairy West, she built and executed a two-brand strategy by launching Unbottled, aligning Dairy West's internal culture & external brand. Her depth of agriculture experience will help Think Shift achieve a deeper understanding of the industry to better serve its clients while forging lasting partnerships. Additionally, Spence's enthusiastic approach to challenges and ability to discover possibility and connection in unexpected places will be invaluable in bringing the agency's teams together and formulating new strategies internally and externally.

"Joining Think Shift is an exciting merging of worlds," said Spence. "When I was a client, I felt an immediate connection to the people and their mission to transform the way the agriculture industry approaches marketing. The team fundamentally understood our business, and they approached our work together holistically as partners. I'm thrilled to join a group of people -- and friends -- whom I deeply respect in a new role that will span both client management and internal alignment."

Based in Utah, Spence's hire aligns strategically with Think Shift's expansion into the United States. As the agency looks to work with additional U.S.-based clients, her extensive experience and network in the industry will be an integral part of developing Think Shift's presence as a global agri-marketing leader.

"Kristi's talent for strategic thinking and bringing people together will be key to the development of our business on a global scale," said Think Shift CEO Robert Thorsten. "She has a way of finding the synergy between the unique talents each person brings to a team. As we continue to grow our presence stateside, her wealth of experience in the U.S. agriculture industry will be a core part of growing our team and client roster there. We're excited for all that she has to offer our agency."

Spence's career trajectory has been far from linear, from teaching English abroad to working in aviation and even launching a nonprofit for new American families. Her last career stop was at Dairy West as Senior Vice-President of Marketing and Communications, where she hired Think Shift as the company's Primary Marketing & Creative agency. Spence initially made the transition to Dairy, over a decade ago, after recognizing a gap between understanding food production and making food consumption choices as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). She began work with Think Shift in November and reports directly to Robert Thorsten.
