RED STAR FEED FACILITY IN CORNING IA DESTROYED BY FIRE
by Feed & Grain magazine

KCCI reported on a devastating fire overnight has completely destroyed Red Star Feed, a prominent feed business located in Corning, Iowa. The blaze, which began in the early hours of Friday morning, quickly engulfed the main building and spread to at least two neighboring structures.

Corning Fire Chief Tony Hardisty reported that fire crews responded to the emergency around 3 a.m., arriving to find the building fully engulfed in flames. The fire's intensity and rapid spread have resulted in a total loss for the business.

Firefighters from multiple departments, including Corning, Creston, Lenox, Prescott, and Red Oak, battled the inferno in challenging conditions. Single-digit temperatures posed significant obstacles, causing equipment to freeze and creating treacherous, slippery conditions for the responders.

Despite the difficult circumstances, no injuries have been reported.
