With a career steeped in member services for some of the nation's leading agriculture organizations, Maher brings a wealth of agriculture membership expertise to the peanut industry.
In her new role, Maher will create and implement membership marketing programs and develop strategies and services to promote APC membership benefits and reach new demographics. She will also serve as the staff liaison for the APC Membership Committee, which supports membership growth by actively recruiting, retaining and engaging members.
"We are excited to welcome Kate to the American Peanut Council and look forward to the fresh ideas and energy she will bring to the membership space," said APC Vice President of Communications Tracy Grondine. "During her career, Kate has thrived at building partnerships, fostering collaboration and creating value for members and stakeholders alike, which will be a great asset for APC and its members."
Maher has spent her career working in agriculture. She has led membership efforts for various trade associations, including the National Cattlemen's Beef Association, the U.S. Meat Export Association and the North American Limousin Foundation, and has overseen organizational communications efforts for NCBA. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science with an agriculture business concentration from Colorado State University and is active in the National Agri-Marketing Association, serving as an executive committee member for the organization.
"I am excited to join the ranks of such a prominent organization as the American Peanut Council to advance the mission of APC through increased membership and stakeholder value," said Maher. "Associations serving agriculture are critical not only to the global population that enjoys safe and nutritious food, but also to the farmers, manufacturers, processors and countless others along the supply chain that work tirelessly to grow and market their commodities. Membership is key to the success of these organizations."
