COMPENSATION SUMMIT WORKSHOPS HELP AGRICULTURAL EMPLOYERS COMPETE FOR & RETAIN TALENT
Source: AgCareers news release

Ames, IA - Agriculture and food employers remain focused on the ongoing need for talent. Employee retention, identified as the top employer concern in the recent AgCareers Agriculture & Food HR Review, highlights the significance employers place on retaining their workforce. In addition, compensating employees well and competitively is the second most common concern for human resource professionals and leaders. Retention and compensation are a priority due to recruiting difficulties and competition for talent. Human capital is a crucial component and one of the most challenging matters employers face.

"Rising wage rates continue to be the most widely reported compensation concern," said Mary Barefoot, Manager of Research & Insights, AgCareers. "Agricultural employers are also concerned about relating compensation to performance, pay equity, finding relevant salary benchmarking data, and quickly adapting to changing market pay rates," added Barefoot.

With the evolving expectations of candidates and employees, besides employer concerns, AgCareers launched a series of Compensation Summit Workshops for industry employers. These full-day in-person workshops provide a deep dive into everything compensation-related in the agriculture and food industries. Expert facilitators guide participants, ensuring they acquire critical takeaways related to compensation, salary, incentives, bonuses and more.

The first summit will be April 8th, 2025, in Chicago, Illinois, with educational sessions on creating effective sales compensation plans, foundational compensation programs, salary benchmarking, and total rewards. AgCareers will also host a summit in St. Louis, Missouri on August 5th in conjunction with the 23rd Annual Roundtable Conference. One more Compensation Summit is scheduled for October 15th in Ames, Iowa.

People leaders, HR professionals, talent acquisition, compensation, education and other professionals interested in participating can find out more and reserve their ticket to one or more events here: Ag HR Workshops | Agricultural Human Resources Workshops | AgCareers.com. Continuing education credits from HRCI and SHRM are available.
