HIGHLIGHTS OF AMERICAN CARBON ALLIANCE FLY-IN TO DC

Source: American Carbon Alliance news release

Washington, DC -- Last week, ACA wrapped up a fast-paced and productive two-day Fly-In to Washington, D.C., where we met with 25 members of the House and Senate. Our message was clear: extend 45Z and urge the Administration to finalize the 45Z guidance and rules for ethanol plants and farmers.

The timing couldn't have been better. The House Ways and Means Committee has begun drafting tax provisions for the upcoming Reconciliation Bill, and this is a crucial moment to push for a long-term extension of 45Z. As it stands, 45Z is only authorized for three years--far too short to provide the certainty needed for companies investing in new technologies to drive a domestic Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) market. We believe that extending 45Z to align more closely with 45Q is both practical and necessary to encourage investment and innovation.

Additionally, the 45Z guidance introduced by the previous Administration must be finalized to provide the necessary regulatory certainty for carbon capture and sequestration adoption. Without clear rules, progress is stalled. We're hopeful this issue will be resolved soon.

As we all know, 45Z is critical to securing the future of the U.S. ethanol industry. This program plays a key role in revitalizing farm profitability and strengthening rural economies--which are currently facing serious challenges. New market opportunities are urgently needed to reverse the downward trend in the farm economy.

Our Fly-In was a success, but our work is far from over. We must stay engaged and continue advocating as Congress navigates the complexities of passing these provisions. Your voice is essential in this effort!

If you're interested in joining us in Washington to help tell your story and reinforce the importance of 45Z, please reach out. Your advocacy can make all the difference.
