ARLINGTON, Va. - The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) hosted its annual Purchasing and Ingredient Suppliers Conference last week, March 18-20, in Orlando, Fla. The conference brought together over 600 feed industry professionals for three days of educational sessions, networking opportunities and business meetings.

"PISC is known for creating an environment where attendees can make meaningful connections and get business done," said Jessica Morse, AFIA's director of meetings and events. "Orlando has been a favorite among PISC attendees and those who joined us took full advantage of the opportunity to network. Whether on the golf course, during the receptions or around the venue, we saw countless new business relationships take shape over just a few days."

Attendees engaged in a robust lineup of educational sessions covering timely legislative and regulatory updates from Washington, D.C., the latest on the highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreak in U.S. poultry and dairy cattle, opportunities in artificial intelligence and carbon markets, and an economic outlook. The conference also featured a special screening of the "World Without Cows," a documentary exploring the cultural, socioeconomic and food security significance of cattle production across the globe.

In addition to the educational sessions, the conference provided networking opportunities for attendees, including the annual golf tournament, a pickleball tournament, puppy yoga, a late-night dessert and drinks bar, and several receptions and networking lounges. The AFIA also hosted six Brazilian feed ingredient buyers at PISC as part of its efforts to expand market access to Brazil. The individuals held over 40 meetings with AFIA members and PISC attendees, building relationships with U.S. suppliers.

New at PISC this year, the Institute for Feed Education and Research (IFEEDER) was featured at the welcome reception to kick off an individual giving campaign leading up to the institute's 16th anniversary on April 17. While the campaign is ongoing over the next few weeks, PISC attendees raised nearly $4,000 in support of future research, education and sustainability projects on behalf of the U.S. animal food industry.

The AFIA thanks its PISC sponsors: diamond sponsors Anhui Huaheng Biotechnology (ABH) and Pet Food Integrity; gold sponsors Animal Agriculture Alliance, Ardent Mills, Arm and Hammer Animal Nutrition, Cargill Animal Nutrition and Health, CJ Bio America, Feed Strategy, Huvepharma and Nutrien; silver sponsors Adisseo and Baymag; and bronze sponsors H.L. Blachford, Diamond V, Eastman Chemical Company, Energy Feeds International, GHW USA, International Nutrition, Mosaic Company, New Generation Supplements and Novus.

The 2026 Purchasing and Ingredient Suppliers Conference will take place March 9-11, in Fort Worth, Texas. For more information on AFIA's educational and networking opportunities, visit afia.org/events.
