Rumley, based in Fayetteville, Arkansas, specializes in landowner liability, agritourism, food labeling, estate planning, leasing, and other land use topics. With 18 years of experience, he has presented to producer groups, consumers, extension agents, industry professionals, and legal audiences nationwide. He has also authored numerous articles for agricultural operations, policymakers, and attorneys. As a senior staff attorney, Rumley researches and responds to legal questions submitted by the public, attorneys, extension personnel, and legislative aides. He teaches an Introduction to Agricultural Law course and writes extensively on federal grant-funded topics such as renewable energy, oil and natural gas issues, forestry, and estate planning. His work includes constructing databases of all 50 states' recreational use statutes and state alternative dispute resolution statutes, fence laws, and agritourism regulations. Rumley holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Oklahoma and a Master of Laws in Agricultural Law from the University of Arkansas. He is licensed to practice law in Oklahoma and Michigan and is a member of the American Agricultural Law Association and the Oklahoma Bar Association. Raised on a family farm in Cogar, Oklahoma, Rumley brings firsthand agricultural experience to his legal expertise.
