Aug. 26, 2025 BrownfieldAgNews reports: Not a lot of changes to the USDA's national crop condition ratings over the past week. The USDA says 71% of U.S. corn is good to excellent, unchanged, with 83% at the dough making stage, 44% dented, and 7% mature, all close to the five-year averages. 69% of soybeans are in good to excellent shape as of Sunday, 1% higher, and 89% are at the pod setting stage and 4% are dropping leaves, matching their usual paces. 98% of winter wheat is harvested, in-line with the average. 49% of spring wheat is called good to excellent, 1% lower, and 53% is harvested, just behind normal. 54% of cotton is rated good to excellent, down 1%, with 81% of the crop setting bolls and 20% of bolls opening. 74% of rice is in good to excellent condition, a decline of 1%, and 96% is headed with 25% harvested. 63% of sorghum is reported as good to excellent, steady on the week, with 88% headed, 44% turning color, 23% mature, and 16% harvested. 37% of U.S. pastures and rangelands are good to excellent, 2% below the previous week.
