Sep. 3, 2025 National Association of Farm Broadcasting (NAFB) reports: NAFB and Feeding America to host virtual news event on Hunger Action Day 8 a.m. (Central), Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025 Who: •Linda Nageotte, president and COO, Feeding America •Dru Montri, VP of Agri Food Engagement, Feeding America •Jeff Nalley, president, NAFB What: Focus on Hunger in Rural America Virtual Media Event When: 8:00 - 8:30 a.m. Central, Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025 Food insecurity is a growing crisis, and it's especially devastating in rural America. NAFB and Feeding America have partnered to elevate the voices of people facing hunger and will provide an update in a virtual media event. Please join us on Hunger Action Day, Tuesday, Sept. 9, for a special event exclusively for NAFB members. We will provide brief updates on the following: •The state of hunger with a rural focus •Importance of farming and ag communities in the mission to end hunger •Activation of NAFB Hunger to leverage the reach of farm broadcasters in making a difference in the rural communities they serve There will be time allotted for Q-and-A. Background: Earlier this summer, NAFB announced a partnership with Feeding America to bring attention to the crisis of hunger in rural America. The NAFB Hunger campaign is designed to help provide food and resources for people facing hunger including those living in rural communities, by directing donors to the Feeding America network of partner food banks. Through the dedicated nafbhunger.com site, donations will go directly to support local Feeding America network food banks based on the donor's zip code. During Feeding America's month-long Hunger Action Month, we're redoubling our efforts to bring awareness and action to the crisis. Join leading experts from Feeding America and NAFB President Jeff Nalley for an overview of initiatives to provide food and resources for people facing hunger.
